Typotheque

Greta Sans Launch Film

Introducing a new typeface through motion storytelling

The Challenge

Typotheque's Peter Bil'ak needed to showcase Greta Sans's continuous optical size system—a technical innovation allowing seamless scaling while maintaining readability. Traditional static specimens couldn't effectively demonstrate this dynamic capability, requiring a new approach to communicate the typeface's technical advantages to the design community.

Our Approach

The Idea

The Idea We made the typeface the star by using motion to demonstrate its capabilities. Rather than explaining the continuous optical size system, we showed it in action through typography-driven narrative and animation.

Execution

The film placed Greta Sans against a clean white background, eliminating visual distractions. Animation sequences demonstrated the optical size system's seamless scaling, while a script allowed the typeface to showcase its own flexibility through motion storytelling.

Impact

Results
The film engaged typographers and designers, making the continuous optical size system accessible through visual demonstration rather than technical explanation.
Cultural Resonance
The approach provided Typotheque with a cinematic method for typeface launches. The film demonstrated how motion could effectively communicate typeface capabilities to design professionals.
